I've heard that the maximum SAFE horsepower on any 1/4 stringer boat is right around 400. 'Course, most guys wind up building 100 or so past that eventually and then wonder why their stringers are coming off the floor? _________________ Malcolm

How do you like those over transom pipes, I'm about to weld up some stainless over transoms and bolt them to my glenwood logs. I might give them a slight tilt inward. _________________

They are ok... As they are right now, they get in the way of the ski tow (previous owner says) but i think a real header is in order for this build _________________ '69 442

How much HP are you looking to dump in there??? Do you really want someone to say "it's designed for it"??? Hell, they never knew these things were gonna last 40 years when they were pumping them out in the 70s.
I'll go so far as to guess it's way more than they ever had in mind when they built it. You could make a rail kit for it to lessen the strain on the wood and/or rip the 1/4 wood out and make it a full stringer hull. _________________ Malcolm
